AIMS is a mobile application designed primarily for Veterans and military Service members, although it can be beneficial for individuals dealing with anger issues, regardless of their background. The app is an extension of the Anger and Irritability Management Skills online self-help course developed by the VA, accessible at http://www.veterantraining.va.gov/aims/.
Within the app, users will find a wealth of resources aimed at educating them about anger, facilitating connections with support networks, guiding them in crafting personalized anger management strategies, enabling anger tracking, and providing practical tools to navigate and mitigate angry responses effectively. A unique feature of AIMS is the option to customize tools according to individual preferences and seamlessly integrate personal contacts, photos, and music into the user experience. The flexibility of the application allows for independent use or in conjunction with the online course or traditional therapy sessions.
Developed by the VA’s National Center for PTSD and VA’s Office of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, AIMS embodies a comprehensive approach to addressing anger-related challenges while leveraging the expertise of mental health professionals and tailored resources to empower users on their journey towards improved emotional well-being.
